Potomac Urology
Provident Healthcare Partners (“Provident”), a leading healthcare investment banking firm, announced it has advised Potomac Urology Center (“PUC”) in its partnership with GI Alliance (“GIA”) and its parent company, Cardinal Health. PUC provides a full-suite of general and subspecialized urologic care throughout its six-location footprint across the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area.
Provident’s deal team was led by Managing Director Kevin Palamara and Director AJ Shekar. Dykema served as legal counsel to PUC and Katten Muchin Rosenman served as legal counsel to GI Alliance. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
“I am pleased to offer my highest recommendation for Provident Healthcare Partners, and in particular, AJ and Kevin, for their outstanding work in guiding us through a complex and highly strategic transaction. Their deep expertise in the Urology space and physician practices was essential in helping us secure a deal that was truly unique and well-aligned with our long-term goals” stated Dr. Pratik Desai, managing partner at PUC. “What set AJ and Kevin apart was not only their extensive experience but also their creativity and willingness to think beyond the traditional players in Urology. Rather than treating our process as just another transaction, they took the time to understand our specific needs and aspirations, identifying a partner that was the absolute best fit for us, not just in the short term, but for the future. Their ability to look beyond the usual suspects and consider alternative structures ensured that we landed in the strongest possible position. Throughout the process, AJ and Kevin were thoughtful, strategic, and incredibly responsive. Their guidance was invaluable, and their commitment to securing the right outcome for us never wavered. Thanks to their efforts, we were able to structure a deal that will provide lasting benefits and set us up for long-term success. We are deeply grateful for their partnership, creativity, and expertise, and I would highly recommend them to anyone seeking a banking team that truly understands the nuances of physician-led transactions and is committed to delivering the best possible outcome.”
“Congratulations to the physicians at PUC on this landmark transaction, representing the first urology partnership for GI Alliance on the heels of their recent partnership with Cardinal Healthcare” noted Palamara. “Tremendous work by all involved and we look forward to what the future will bring for our friends at PUC.”
“Potomac Urology is well-regarded as a leader in innovative urological care, both in the DMV area and on a national stage” exclaimed Shekar. “We are excited to see their growth accelerate in partnership with GI Alliance and Cardinal Healthcare.”
