Current State of the DSO Market

Skip to the end of the Expertise Menu

Recorded  April 25, 2019

Since the late 90’s, the dental sector has been one of the most active in terms of private equity-led investment and consolidation activity. In the last 15 months, there were 12 new private equity platform transactions in the dental space, and in the first quarter of 2019 alone, there were 11 publicly announced dental merger & acquisition transactions. While there continues to be robust transaction activity within the sector, it remains a highly fragmented industry with plenty of macroeconomic growth drivers and white-space opportunity for existing dental organizations to expand. Many regional & national groups have noted the favorable sell-side conditions created by the widespread interest in dental and partnered with capital providers to accelerate growth. As private equity-backed groups compete for market share, dental practices have several partnership options to evaluate, each with varying transaction structures and strategies.

This webinar will focus on providing dentists and DSO operators an industry update regarding the current trends and transaction activity driving today’s dental market, how to evaluate the best long-term partner for the group, and the potential risks associated with pursuing a transaction.

The webinar will include insight from two investment banking advisors and a health care attorney who have been active in guiding dental practices through merger and acquisition transaction processes and related regulatory issues. Each professional will draw upon the knowledge gained from being at the forefront of consolidation across health care.
