Internship Program

Provident accepts several college students for our summer and school year analyst program. The summer program lasts from the first week of June to the middle of August. The school year program is open to college students in the Boston area and involves a flexible schedule tailored around the intern's classes and other obligations with a minimum of 20 hours per week required. Interns during both sessions will learn the middle market investment banking business. Interns will participate directly in the deal process and will assist in identifying and targeting prospective clients. Significant experience will also be gained through meetings, conference calls, and presentations with other members of the deal team. Interns will work side-by-side with the Analysts, Associates and Senior Associates of the company. Specific tasks include original research, company contacts, database creation and marketing efforts. Because we hire only a few interns for each session, they have the opportunity for a very personal and in-depth experience while making a contribution to the success of Provident.

How to Apply

The Provident intern program is open to undergraduate college students who have completed their sophomore year or above. Interested applicants should be highly motivated, self-disciplined, enthusiastic, and have a positive attitude and work ethic. A background in finance or accounting is not required; however applicants must have excellent communication and analytical skills, the ability to think quickly, and the desire to learn more about the investment banking industry. Previously, Provident has offered full-time positions upon graduation to candidates who have excelled as interns.

To apply, please e-mail a resume along with a cover letter as a Microsoft Word or Adobe.pdf attachment to intern@providenthp.com. We will carefully review all submissions and contact candidates to arrange phone and in-person interviews.
