Provident Healthcare Partners has an opportunity for a highly talented individual to join our sell-side M&A team at the Analyst level. Provident Healthcare Partners (PHP) takes a proactive approach towards analyzing and identifying issues that may be uncovered in financial due diligence after a deal is originated by the Business Development (BD) team and a Letter of Intent (LOI) is signed.  As a member of the Finance team, this position is responsible for working with the BD team on prospective client’s valuations, preparing the financial section of the Confidential Information Memorandum (CIM), supporting and working with the Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) team through the marketing process, review and analysis of potential buyers LOI’s including Seller’s proceeds analysis, managing on-site financial due diligence meetings, and ultimately, leading our clients through a successful M&A process.  This position works closely with all members of the Provident team and serves as the intermediary between the BD and M&A teams as well as the Managing Partner of the firm.  The Analyst will report directly to the two Finance Senior Associates and CFO. The candidate must be personable while also financially sophisticated, and motivated to successfully drive the success of the Provident organization. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until April 17th, 2017. Provident is seeking candidates for its Boston office.


  • One to two years in investment banking, public accounting, or financial analyst capacity is required
  • CPA preferred
  • Deep knowledge of accounting, valuation techniques, and financial modeling (Proforma and Proceeds Analysis, Market & Deal Comparables, etc.)
  • Strong in Excel and presentation-building skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of revenue model for healthcare service companies
  • Exceptional work ethic and a high level of enthusiasm, initiative and leadership potential
  • Detailed oriented and high level of organization is a must
  • Highly motivated, team player with an ability to learn in a fast-paced, challenging environment

 Primary Responsibilities

  • Report directly to Senior Associates and CFO
  • Gather client-prepared financial/data related documents and analyze to use as basis for initial prospect valuations, CIM financial presentations, and purchase price proposals
  • Manage virtual dataroom and buyer/3rd party request lists to ensure accuracy and efficiency in fulfilling requirements during pre and post LOI stages
  • Assist with entire M&A process (from a financial and general due diligence perspective) for several clients at one time
  • Coordinate and assist due diligence through to a successful transaction close
  • Develop and maintain relationships with C-Level financial and other client executives, including conference calls and meetings
  • Educate BD and M&A team members in basic accounting and tax issues as they pertain to valuations of prospects and clients
  • Travel represents less than 10% of position

Provident Healthcare Partners has an opportunity for a highly talented individual to join our sell-side M&A team at the Analyst level. The selected individual will join a dedicated group of seasoned investment bankers responsible for evaluating and analyzing the healthcare market, sourcing acquisition candidates, and taking a significant role in the deal process. Candidates that are available to start immediately, as well as through the summer of 2017, are encouraged to apply. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until March 15th, 2017. Provident is seeking candidates for its Los Angeles office.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

You will work with a dedicated team performing analytical research on various sectors within healthcare services. In this role you will focus on a few areas of healthcare and spend a significant amount of time working with potential clients in those specific sectors. You will also be participating in marketing, strategic advisory, valuations, etc. You will be exposed to all levels of a transaction process from the origination, marketing, due diligence, and ultimately the closing of a transaction. Primary responsibilities will focus on the qualitative and quantitative analysis of sectors and specific companies within the healthcare industry, along with an eventual focus on assisting in the sourcing of new clients. Key tasks include:

• Qualitatively evaluate potential transactions, performing detailed sector and company research and analysis
• Prepare portfolio company analysis, including valuations and financial modeling
• Prepare materials for internal and external meetings
• Interact with industry experts and build strong relationships with top-tier executives within the healthcare industry, with the goal of sourcing new clients soon after start date
• Attend conferences within the healthcare industry
• Prepare up-to-date market material for internal distribution and education
• Attend and contribute to prospective client meetings with senior bankers on the deal origination team


Prior investment banking analyst experience is not a necessity however could be deemed helpful, particularly applicable internship experience. The individual who fills this role must have excellent skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint, as well as a strong financial understanding and skillset.
